He said the current success of Sarawak transcended three generations, dating to the moment the state, along with Sabah,  achieved independence within the federation of Malaysia, in return for the promise that it will not be left behind.

"Under Malaysia's policies which has ensured continuous development and growth, I am proud to say that we have kept to that first promise to see Sarawak transformed and developed as it has now," he said, when launching the Jelajah Janji Ditepati carnival here.

Najib said his three-year administration had fulfilled its promises to better the lives of Sarawakians, including spending up to RM2.25 billion on 300 development projects, out of which 248 have been completed.

"If we can do that in three years, imagine what we can do in five more," he told the 10,000 strong crowd.
