The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will be visiting Malaysia from 13 to 15 September to celebrate The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
While here, the royal couple will have an audience with the Yang Di Pertuan Agong and meet Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak. They will also visit a local charity and attend a small Diamond Jubillee Tea Party hosted by the British High Commissioner
Nikesh Mehta, the Counsellor (Foreign Policy and Security) at the British High Commission in Kuala Lumpur, writes that preparations for the entire programme were carried out the last eight weeks.
“This means regular discussions with St James’s Palace and the Malaysian Government to ensure that the individual elements are coming together; that the programme strikes the right balance between formality and festivity; and that we factor in the security and media requirements,” he said.
