Foundations, or yayasan in Bahasa Malaysia, are non-profit organisations that provide funds and support to other entities or to charitable organisations.

There are quite a few foundations in Malaysia; almost every state has a foundation that supports the development of its community. Most of them provide bursaries or study loans to deserving students.

  Yayasan Selangor Education Loan

The loan is also advertised in newspapers in January and July every year. It is open for candidates hoping to pursue a course in local public or private institution of higher learning for certificate, diploma and degree level.

  Yayasan Perak State Education Bursary

Priority is given to applicants from families with an income below RM1,500.

  Yayasan Negeri Sembilan Education Loan

Application is open to students who are residents of Negeri Sembilan, or with one or both parents born in Negeri Sembilan, or with one or both parents having resided in the state for eight years continuously. Total family income must not be more than RM6,000.

Students may pursue a course at any local institution, public university, or at Yayasan Negeri Sembilan Institute of Technology.

  Yayasan Pahang Education Loan

Application is open to students who are residents of Pahang, or with one or both parents born in Pahang, or with one or both parents having resided in the state for 10 years continuously.

Yayasan Pahang has several Education Assistance programmes covering a number of levels and disciplines.

  Yayasan Pelajaran Johor Education Loan

Applicants must be born in Johor or be a Malaysian citizen who has lived in the state for at least five consecutive years. They must have received an offer from a local or foreign university or institute of higher learning.

Amount: RM2,500 for certificate, RM3,500 for diploma, RM5,500 for degree or PhD.

  Yayasan Terengganu Education Loan

Applicants must be born in Terengganu.

Discipline: A-Levels.

Undergraduate degrees in Islamic Studies or Arab language in universities in the Middle East and Jordan, twinning programmes, aviation engineering, aviation technician, UiTM special programmes.

  Yayasan Sabah Education Loans

  Yayasan Sarawak Education Loan Schemes and Revolving Fund Scheme
