Undergraduate Focus: Programmes that lead to promising careers

NILAI UC now offers degrees in the fields of automotive engineering, electrical and electronic engineering, and mechanical engineering. Diploma programmes are available for the latter two areas as well as in mechatronics engineering.

“All the diploma programmes are accredited by the MQA while the degree programmes have been approved by the Engineering Accreditation Council (EAC). The diploma programmes provide more emphasis on hands-on training while the degree programmes are tailored to provide sound knowledge and design background. This allows students taking engineering courses at Nilai UC to experience the new and the latest, instead of outdated facilities, thus improving their experience and education value,” says Dr Logeswaran Rajasvaran, Dean of Nilai UC School of Engineering, Science & Technology.

Graduates from Nilai UC’s engineering programmes can also look forward to getting their professional engineer status with the right to use the prefix ‘Ir’ and suffix ‘PEng’ to their name, after obtaining the required work experience and professional assessments by the Board of Engineers Malaysia. Graduates who join the Institution of Engineers, Malaysia may use the prefix ‘Engr’.

“Whichever programme they choose to do at Nilai UC’s School of Engineering, Science and Technology, students will be assured the proper accreditation and validations. Coupled with the facilities we have on campus, rest assured students will be receiving a quality education,” says Dr Logeswaran.
