It's not just about dollars and cents for business and accountancy students at SEGi. A group of students from the Faculty of Business and Accountancy, SEGi College Subang Jaya, paid a visit to the Home for Children shelter recently.

It proved to be a truly enjoyable experience for the students and the children at the home. The SEGi students organised and took part in activities with the children throughout the day.

The lessons gained from experience were something the students could not get from the classroom; though they did have to apply all they learnt from classes to raise funds to donate to the home. In turn the children learned the value of teamwork.

“It is truly the experience that counts,” affirms Guruparan Vickneswaran, University of Greenwich BA (Hons) Accounting & Finance student at SEGi College Kuala Lumpur, who is also leader of the champion team in the MIM National Management Game last year.

“The college gives us students a huge amount of exposure to the business world. My lecturers are very experienced and constantly encourage us to join external competitions,” said Guruparan.

He was leader of team Legion SEC which beat other teams from the corporate sector in the finals to claim the championship in the Malaysian Institute of Management (MIM) National Management Game.

“I’m really grateful to have chosen to study here because my lecturers are very dedicated. I can feel that they see our success as their own,” says Guruparan.
