Undergraduate Focus: The connection to world-class programmes
|
An enriching learning experience awaits students of INTI’s University of Wollongong (UOW) degree programmes as it is affiliated with a university that enjoys a five-star status in Australia. It is placed in the top two per cent of the world’s universities, and is listed among the world’s top 100 younger universities. |
The Times Higher Education (THE) recently announced that UOW has been selected as one of the world’s top 100 universities aged under 50. The THE 100 Under 50 is a new addition to its World University Rankings portfolio. UOW has been listed 33rd among universities across the world.
The 2012 Good Universities Guideconfirms UOW’s longstanding position as one of Australia’s leading research institutions. UOW received five stars in five key areas, where only the top 20 per cent of universities in Australia can be awarded five stars in any one category: getting a job, graduate satisfaction, positive graduate outcomes, staff qualifications and generic skills.
Working in partnership, UOW and INTI have extended the best in tertiary education to students in Malaysia through degree programmes in IT (majoring in e-business or network design and management), computer science (majoring in software engineering, multimedia and game development or digital systems security), commerce (majoring in finance, accounting, management, economics, marketing or public relations) and communications and media studies (majoring in marketing communications and advertising).
Students of the UOW programmes are enrolled as UOW students, which grant them access to online resources that are available at UOW. These include e-books, e-journals, and e-teaching and learning materials.
The graduation certificate is conferred by UOW and bears the name University of Wollongong. As the courses delivered at INTI are identical in content to those at UOW in Australia, students can also choose to transfer at the end of any semester to continue their studies at UOW in Wollongong. Transfer options available are the 2+1, 1.5+1.5 and 1+2 arrangements.
“INTI’s proven expertise, experience and passionate dedication are precisely the qualities needed to uphold the world-class academic standards that UOW is renowned for,” says Emeritus Professor Barry Harper, Academic Dean of UOW Programmes, Malaysia. “Our aim is to nurture quality graduates who are experts in their fields and who can work anywhere in the world. Above all, we are looking to produce tomorrow’s leaders – mature, well-rounded individuals who will make a contribution to society.”
Students of INTI benefit not only from the institution’s experience of more than 25 years and strong track-record, but also gain from the global synergy and resources that Laureate International Universities provides.
INTI is part of Laureate, the world’s largest private education network with a presence in 29 countries, with more than 60 accredited universities and 130 campuses, serving more than 700,000 students globally.
