    Undergraduate Focus: University college wins best thesis award

    Excellence: Gillian-Eve Rajasingham of Kuala Lumpur Infrastructure University College (KLIUC) won the coveted Gold Award for the Best Thesis Award in Water Resources & Hydrology 2011. The event was organised by the UNESCO-IHP Malaysia, the Department of Irrigation and Drainage (DID) and UNESCO-Humid Tropics Centre Kuala Lumpur in conjunction with the national-level World Water Day 2012 recently.

     

    Gillian-Eve’s bachelor’s degree thesis entitled Treating Leachate with Plantwas nominated by the academic panel and won the Gold Award during the judging session held at Humid Tropics Centre.

    A total of 44 theses were submitted by both the public and private higher institutions. The nomination was endorsed by the Malaysia International Hydrological Programme (MIHP) in early March, which was chaired by the Director General of DID, Datuk Ir Ahmad Husaini Sulaiman.
