    MALACCA ACCIDENT: Driver, motorcyclist injured

    MALACCA: TWO youths were killed in an accident involving two motorcycles and a car near here  yesterday morning.   

    The accident, which occurred at 2.50am in Peringgit along the Alor Gajah-Malacca-Jasin highway, left motorcyclist Muhammad Firdaus Md Said, 19, and Abdul Rahup Yusof, 19, a passenger in the car, dead at the scene.

    Car driver, Noh Hamrizal Ahmad, 21, and another motorcyclist Khairul Bismi Romli, 17, suffered injuries to the body and face and are being treated at Malacca Hospital.

    It is learnt that the accident occurred when the driver of the car, which was heading towards Melaka Sentral from Peringgit, lost control of the vehicle after trying to avoid a collision with a slow-moving car in front of it.

    The car swerved into the oncoming lane before crashing into the two motorcyclists. As a result of the impact, Firdaus died on the spot and left Abdul Rahup trapped in the car. He died soon after.

    Malacca Tengah police chief ACP Salehhudin Abd Rahman confirmed the report.
