KUALA LUMPUR: More than 60,000 people are expected to turn up at Karnival Nusajaya (Nusajaya Carnival) this weekend.

Organised by Khazanah Nasional Bhd, UEM Land Holdings and Iskandar Investment Bhd, the two-day carnival will be held at Dataran Mahkota, Kota Iskandar in Johor. Khazanah executive director (investments) Hisham Hamdan believed the carnival could attract at least 25,000 people a day on Saturday and Sunday.

He said Karnival Nusajaya was held to celebrate the successful launch of several key catalytic projects in and around Nusajaya.

He said the people would get more from the carnival aside from fun and good quality time with the family because they could also check out job opportunities with key companies, including UEM Group Bhd, Permodalan Nasional Bhd, Maybank Bhd , Celcom Bhd, Bank Islam Bhd, Johor Port, Pulai Springs Resort, Tenaga Nasional Bhd, Ernst & Young, Employees' Provident Fund and Takaful Malaysia.

"The carnival shares similar concept with Jom Heboh, but with a career fair as well," he said, adding that 29 companies had confirmed their participation in the job fair.

"Those who are interested can bring their CVs and meet representatives of the companies at the carnival."

Hisham said any one, including foreigners, could submit their resumes to apply for jobs in these companies.
