KUALA LUMPUR: Within hours of being reunited with their son, Nayati Shamelin Moodliar's family released a statement to thank the thousands of people who had expressed their support and prayers for them in their darkest hour.

"We have been overwhelmed by the support in Kuala Lumpur and all over the world. We are unable to find the proper words to express our gratitude but we will never forget what they did for us," said Nayati's father, Sham Moodliar.

"We are delighted that Nayati is back home and though it has been a very traumatic time for him, he is in good shape."

The family also expressed gratitude to the government and police.
