KUALA LUMPUR: The Institute of Strategic Analysis and Policy Research (Insap) and Yayasan 1Malaysia will jointly organise a public forum at the Sime Darby Convention Centre here on March 17.

Themed 'Religion and Unity in a Multi-ethnic Society', the forum to be conducted in English, will be held from noon to 4.30pm.

Admission is free but registration is essential.

In a statement, Insap said the forum aimed to explore the influences of religion in Malaysia’s quest for national unity, and the challenges in creating a sustainable and stable socio-political environment for the nation’s progress.

"The forum will also seek to understand the concerns of Malaysians who are looking forward to continuous peace and ethnic harmony, and how that can be achieved," it added.

Speakers and panelists include Dr Chandra Muzaffar, chairman of the Board of Trustees, Yayasan 1Malaysia, and Deputy Youth and Sports Minister Gan Ping Sieu.

Enquiries on registration can be made via phone at 03-2161 6201 (Insap), 03-7781 4575 (Yayasan 1Malaysia), fax 03-2161 3701 or email event@insap.org.my.-- BERNAMA
