KAJANG: A houseman is believed to have died of drug overdose at Kajang Hospital here yesterday.
Dr Danny Lee, 29, who was on night-shift duty at the hospital's paediatric ward, had gone missing for several hours before he was found lying unconscious in the hospital's toilet at 7am by his colleague.
He was rushed to the hospital's emergency department, but attempts to revive him proved futile.
Kajang police chief Assistant Commissioner Ab Rashid Ab Wahab said a syringe was found at the scene where Lee was found.
"A post-mortem conducted at Serdang Hospital found that he died of drug overdose.
"We have classified the case as sudden death," said Ab Rashid, adding that they are still investigating what drugs Lee had taken prior to his death.
Lee was completing his two-year housemanship at the hospital, and had shown a very high commitment and good performance, a colleague said.
