Internal strife won't affect us, says PKR chief

PETALING JAYA: Internal problems will not affect the chances of Parti Keadilan Rakyat in the next general election, party president Datuk Seri Dr Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail said yesterday.

"Internal party problems are not important and not paramount to public interest. Let these be resolved internally," Dr Wan Azizah told a news conference at PKR's headquarters.

She was asked to comment on the alleged abuse of power by Faekah Husin, political secretary to Selangor Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim.

"We have bigger issues to deal with and Faekah's case has already been dealt with by the menteri besar."

Faekah had recently come under fire from various quarters, including within PKR, after it emerged that she had allegedly misused the state government's letterhead to issue a letter of support to a relative's company that applied for a state government contract.

At the press conference, Dr Wan Azizah diverted attention from her party's internal strife by telling the public to focus on the party's accusations against the government.

"There are more important issues as they are of national interest, while internal party issues do not concern the public."
