MAESTROS ALL: Competition proves hard but fun, exciting 'work'
KUALA LUMPUR: IT had it all -- hard work, spelling experts, thrills, spills and fanatical supporters.
But, while the spirit of competition was alive and well, someone had to win and others had to lose.
So it was that the RHB New Straits Times Spell-It-Right competition came to an end on Saturday after several rounds of gruelling sessions nationwide.
The young spellers battled it out with words like "pyknic", "bateau", "floccillation", "petriloquy", "guerdon", "unguiculate" and "vibratiunculation".
Present at the finale was Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Seri G. Palanivel.
Palanivel presented the prizes with RHB Capital Bhd director Datuk Saw Choo Boon and New Straits Times Press (M) Bhd chief executive officer Mohammad Azlan Abdullah.
