PETALING JAYA: A mechanic was charged yesterday with murdering his elderly uncle and aunt at their home in Seri Kembangan last Wednesday.
Lee Chee Choy, 44, is alleged to have murdered Lee Yoke Mun, 73, and Lee Kam Lin, 59, between 6.15am and 6.30am on June 20.
Deputy public prosecutor Nur Aifaa Che Abdullah applied for the accused to be sent to Hospital Bahagia in Tanjung Rambutan for mental evaluation. Magistrate Surya Wati Hj Shawal allowed the application and fixed July 27 for mention.
Yoke Mun is believed to be Chee Choy's father's brother.
It was earlier reported that the elderly couple was found bludgeoned to death in their single-storey house in Kampung Baru Seri Kembangan.
Yoke Mun was found in the bathroom, while Kam Lin was found in the master bedroom. Both had head injuries.
It was also reported that the victims were attacked early in the morning when Chee Choy's parents, who also live in the same house, had gone to open their stall at a nearby wet market.
They rushed home after being alerted by a neighbour about a commotion, only to find the elderly couple dead.
