SHAH ALAM: In an effort to instil patriotism among students, the Management & Science University (MSU), through its Student & Career Development Unit, recently organised a convoy.
It was called Konvoi Merdeka Raya 2012: Terima Kasih Media and was also held in conjunction with Hari Raya Aidilfitri.
MSU and PTPL College Group president Prof Datuk Wira Dr Mohd Shukri Ab Yajid launched the Merdeka Raya convoy, which consisted of 21 cars.
Eighty-four students and MSU staff took part.
The convoy visited Kumpulan Media Karangkraf, Media Prima Bhd, The New Straits Times Press (M) Bhd, Utusan Melayu Bhd and Radio Televisyen Malaysia.
During each visit, the students handed a Jalur Gemilang to a representative of the media companies. They also sang patriotic songs with the companies' staff.
They also handed "thank you" souvenirs to the companies, thanking them for their role in inculcating patriotism in Malaysians.
The MSU Merdeka Raya convoy is conducted every year since 2007 and has always received enthusiastic support from the staff and students.
