KUALA LUMPUR: A retiree from Selangor walked away last Saturday with the biggest ever Sports Power Toto 6/55 Jackpot when he scooped RM41 million with a winning set of numbers which originated from his mobile phone number.

The retiree claimed that it was a blessing in disguise as one of the numbers was not his but came from a Sports Toto customer service assistant who mistakenly keyed in a different number.

"I did not make a fuss over the mistake as I believed that it was a stroke of luck because I had been pursuing the set of numbers for more than a year," the retiree said, whose winning set of numbers was 11, 12, 19, 22, 28 and 29.

"The jackpot will not have an impact in my personal life but it will be of great help to my children who are all wage earners."

The retiree said the jackpot was a lovely gift for him and his wife as they would be celebrating their 45th wedding anniversary which they had been planning for some time.

The retiree had also dreamt about how he would help several charitable causes if he should ever win the jackpot and named several charitable bodies he intended to help.

Prior to the retiree's winnings, a healthcare professional from Johor won RM9.3 million through the Toto 4D Jackpot 1 on Aug 15.

His winning pair of 4D numbers 3132 and 1821 was a combination of years, dates of birth and ages of family members.

The professional said he would share his good fortune by using his healthcare expertise to help others. On Aug 18, two Toto jackpots were won by a businessman from Selangor and a transportation worker from Johor.

The businessman won RM4.2 million from the Mega Toto 6/52 Jackpot 1 while the transportation worker won RM2.5 million from the Toto 4D Jackpot 1.

The former is expecting another baby with his wife and said his winnings were timely.

The transportation worker was excited as he had long wanted to buy a bigger house for his family down south.
