INCREASED FREQUENCY: 70 drivers get RM177 added incentive every month

MALACCA: The frequency of buses on major roads in Malacca will be increased with the leasing of 15 vehicles from Syarikat Prasarana Negara Bhd (Prasarana) by the state's local stage bus operator,  Panorama Melaka Cultural and Tourism (PMCT) Sdn Bhd.

"With the additional 15 buses, we will be able to increase the frequency of buses plying the routes which command high ridership, such as Ujong Pasir, Tampin (Malacca-Negri Sembilan border) and Muar (Malacca-Johor border)," Chief Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Ali Rustam said yesterday.

"As for the other routes, the time spent waiting for buses will be shorter as there will be more buses plying the routes, especially during morning and evening rush hours."

Ali was speaking to reporters after witnessing the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the leasing of the RapidKL buses between Prasarana and PMCT at the Urban Transformation Centre in Jalan Hang Tuah.

PMCT operates 70 buses and of these, 30 are leased from Prasarana.
