TRAVEL IN STYLE: Participants stand to win a Penang-Phuket-Krabi cruise and GPS units

KUALA LUMPUR: PRIZES for the New Sunday Times Motor Hunt 2012 on  July 8 are getting better by the day.

The latest sponsor to come on board for this inaugural event, which is fast shaping to be the country's biggest motor treasure hunt this year, is Star Cruises.

Besides smartphones, cameras, printers and flight tickets to Sydney and Osaka, participants now stand to travel in style aboard the SuperStar Libra for a three-day/two-night Penang-Phuket-Krabi cruise trip.

The lucky winners will stay in an Oceanview stateroom on board the luxury ship, which is also equipped with a swimming pool, a driving range, a basketball court, sauna, KTV lounge and more.

There are also nightly live entertainment while shore excursions are also available.

TomTom, the supplier of in-car location and navigation products and services, has also become a sponsor, offering a number of GPS units as prizes.

There are also many hotel stays and food and beverage vouchers to be given out.

Registration forms are available in the New Straits Times until Wednesday, which is the closing date for entries.

The motor hunt, with Purple Antz as clerk, is sponsored by BlackBerry smartphones developer RIM (Research in Motion Malaysia Sdn Bhd), Felda Holdings, AirAsia X Sdn Bhd, Sime Darby, Tesco, Bank Pembangunan Malaysia Bhd, Kingston Digital International Ltd, LG, Canon Malaysia, Epson, Lactacyd, Julie's Biscuits, Permodalan Nasional Bhd and Permanis Sandilands Sdn Bhd.

Among the major hotel sponsors are Best Western Premier Dua Sentral, Ri-Yaz Hotels & Resorts, Philea Resort & Spa in Malacca and Hyatt Regency Kuantan Resort.

Other hotels which have sponsored rooms, F&B vouchers and merchandise are Putrajaya Shangri-La, Hard Rock Hotel Penang, G Hotel Penang, DoubleTree by Hilton Kuala Lumpur, Sunway Putra Hotel Kuala Lumpur, Impiana KLCC Hotel, Putrajaya Marriott Hotel & Spa, Holiday Villa Hotels & Resorts and One World Hotel.
