BANTING: A mother allegedly bit her 5-year-old son's right ear, almost severing it, as punishment for being naughty.
The incident was believed to have taken place during the recent school holidays when the boy, who lived with his grandmother in Bukit Changgang here following his parents' separation, visited his mother in Bangi for the weekend.
A source said the boy had a bandaged ear when he was dropped off at the grandmother's home on Monday.
"The grandmother was stunned when she saw the injured ear and when queried, the boy claimed his mother had bitten him, but did not say what had happened.
"The grandmother admitted the boy was hyperactive, but felt the punishment was too much. She lodged a report at the Banting police station yesterday," said the source.
It is learnt that the mother has gone missing after learning that a report has been lodged against her. Kuala Langat district police confirmed that a report had been made.
