SET to take place next year, the Youth Parliament will cost the government RM600,000 annually after it was decided to introduce online voting for parliamentary candidates.

Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Shabery Cheek said it would have two sessions a year  in the Dewan Rakyat hall.

“When we came up with the plan for the nation’s first Youth Parliament, we studied its financial factors and compared with other countries that also organised Youth parliaments. That’s why we will  introduce online voting  as it is more cost-friendly,” he said in reply to  Tan Sri  Khalid Ibrahim (PKR-Bandar Tun Razak).
