ALOR STAR: A special committee, headed by a senior officer, will be set up to investigate the drowning of an administrative and diplomatic officer (PTD) during endurance training in Pekan, Pahang, on Sunday, Chief Secretary to the Government Datuk Seri Dr Ali Hamsa said yesterday.
He said the armed forces and the police would also conduct their own investigations into the incident, which claimed the life of Aldy Hasni Abu Hassan, 35.
"After the investigation, we will want to look into the relevance of PTD cadet courses in the future," he said after visiting Aldy Hasni's family in Lorong Fajar, Jalan Sultanah, here.
He also expressed condolences to Aldy Hasni's widow, Farah Fudhlana Zainuddin, 34.
Ali said the government would also consider a review of the training module and look into the capability of individuals participating in the course.
"The participants can opt to undergo strenuous or light training in accordance with their capability," said Ali, who had met with more than 200 PTD officers who wanted the training to be continued. Bernama
