KOTA KINABALU: The Perodua Investment Race was one of the most sought after contests held at the Minggu Saham Amanah Malaysia (MSAM) this year.
Several hundred people participated in the contest.
It was held seven times throughout the week from April 20 to 28 at the Kompleks Sukan, Likas, here.
One of the first prize winners, Asman Musa, 21, who is self-employed, and his cousin Aida Mohd Rosli, 22, a geography undergraduate from Universiti Malaysia Sabah, said they participated in the race as it was different.
The race was organised to create awareness on Permodalan Nasional Bhd's group of companies and to educate them on the concept of investment. The competition was modelled after the popular television show, The Amazing Race.
There were 10 teams comprising two people in each team, per race.
The participants had to "journey around" the state capital and solve riddles and perform various challenges before reaching the finish line.
The top three winners for each race received unit trusts in the form of Amanah Mutual Bhd with the first prize winner getting 1,000 units, second 700 units and third 500 units.
