SETEMKU: Pos Malaysia allows customers to use their own pictures, logos and designs
KUALA LUMPUR: POS Malaysia Bhd is positive that the tradition of sending Raya cards will make a comeback as people are inclined to connect with family and friends in a more personal way.
"It is a heartwarming initiative. Sending a Raya card via traditional mail reflects a sender's sincerity and effort. It is also more personalised," said Pos Malaysia chief executive officer Datuk Abdul Khalid Abdol Rahman.
He said there were still many Malaysians who believed in connecting with their families and friends through the post.
"Other than the cheap postage, greeting cards were also getting more and more festive.
"You only have to pay 50 sen for postage for greeting cards of any size, which are not more than 50gm in weight.
"The rate was introduced last year and so far, the response has been encouraging.
"We hope more people will take this opportunity to mail their greeting cards for other occasions such as Christmas, Chinese New Year and Deepavali."
As of yesterday, Pos Malaysia's personalised stamp product had recorded over 150,000 sheets sold since it was introduced in 2007.
The personalised stamp, or SetemKu allows customers (individual and corporate) to use their own picture, logo and design as stamps at reasonable price.
Customers can order SetemKu for birthdays, anniversaries, wedding invitations, as presents to families and friends and as special mementos for corporate gifts.
For the coming Hari Raya Aidifitri, SetemKu is available at the discounted price of RM15 from its normal RM19 for a sheet of 30 sen postage stamps. The promotion also includes personalised envelopes and stamp folders.
There is also a limited edition of personalised stamps in a variety of Raya themes. These also come with a free stamp folder, a set of matching envelopes with an 80-sen stamp postage.
One can purchase the stamps at 12 selected Pos Malaysia branches, the promotional booth at Central Market here and Pos Malaysia headquarters at Kompleks Dayabumi, or online at www.pos.com.my.
SetemKu Hari Raya promotion will be on until Sept 7.
