Retraction and apology

WE, the New Straits Times and Azmi Anshar, refer to the article in the New Straits Times, dated June 14, 2011 on page 11 under Prime News with the heading "Karpal's political chicanery exposed again" and our assertion that Mr Karpal Singh had distributed an explicit sex video of a former Dewan Rakyat deputy speaker and then was indignant when another sex video of his client was being distributed.

We accept there is no truth or basis to our assertion which we hereby retract and unreservedly apologise to Mr Karpal Singh for the pain the anxiety caused to him following the publication of our assertion.
