Sibu villagers to get clinic

SIBU: Residents of Kampung Datuk, Nangka, Bandung, and people living along Jalan Abang Barieng here will no longer have to make the long trip to Sungai Bidut or Taman Rajang to get medical care at government-run clinics.

A 1Malaysia clinic would soon be opened close to the villages, said Nangka assemblyman Dr Annuar Rapaee yesterday.

He said three sites had been identified for the clinic.

Dr Annuar said the sites had been inspected by Assistant Minister for Public Health Dr Jerip Susil not long after he had submitted a request for the clinic to the Health Ministry.

"Dr Jerip inspected the three proposed sites and I have been requested to submit a proposal in the next two weeks," said Dr Annuar after attending a programme with Sibu military veterans.
