A COMPREHENSIVE survey on education, employment and training on youths will be included in a nationwide research into quality of youths, Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin said yesterday.
The "Not in Education, Employment or Training" survey, also known as NEET, focuses on the the level of education, employment and training to gauge the quality of the country's youth.
Khairy said the third Malaysia Youth Index (MYI) survey carried out in 2011 revealed that the economic well-being of youths in Malaysia was between moderate and average.
"This suggestion for NEET to be incorporated into the MYI is welcomed.
"The mapping of data will also be done geographically to ensure accurate information can be gathered so that measures can be taken by the government in addressing the issues," he said.
