UMS Link Centre for Professional Development (UCPD) recently organised an "ISFP Appreciation Night" to celebrate the international students of Batch 19 who recently completed their studies at UCPD.
The ceremony was attended by 47 students, lecturers and senior management staff of UMS Link Holdings Sdn Bhd (ULink), a wholly-owned company of Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS).
ULink group chairman Datuk K.Y. Mustafa, who was the guest of honour, delivered a speech. Also present was Prof Dr Vincent Pang, director of International Affairs Office at UMS.
The international students, who successfully completed the six-month International Student Foundation Programme (ISFP), will now be able to pursue undergraduate studies at UMS.
The ISFP is a preparatory English proficiency course equivalent to international standards, which aims to improve language skills, cross-cultural understanding and interpersonal communication before students pursue undergraduate or postgraduate studies at UMS. Successful students are awarded the Certificate of English Language Competency and Foundation Studies.
In his speech, K.Y. Mustafa said UCPD, which is owned by ULink. constantly strives to produce innovative, skilled and knowledgeable students, both locally and internationally.
Since its establishment, UCPD has been running various professional development training programmes for the public and private sectors, as well as interested individuals. These include the Stress Management Workshop, Effective Negotiation Skills, Photography and Editing Workshop, and Public Relations and Communication Workshop.
