IPOH: Cultural performances will be held at Dataran MBI, here, on Sept 16, in conjunction with Malaysia Day celebrations.
State Local Government Committee chairman Datuk Dr Mah Hang Soon said the highlights would include a patriotic song karaoke competition and 1Malaysia poetry recital.
"Representatives from the Orang Asli community are also expected to participate in the poetry recital.
"This is something unique that we all look forward to."
He said Perak Tourism would organise the Perak Cultural Festival at the same venue from Sept 14 to 16.
"There will also be dances and drum performances.
"I hope everybody can come and enjoy the festivities. We will celebrate Malaysia Day in the true 1Malaysia spirit," he added. By Roshidi Abu Samah
