Hishammuddin chides Mat Sabu

ALOR STAR: Home Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein yesterday lambasted Pas deputy president Mohamad Sabu for calling his supporters to take things to the streets if the government does not meet the party's requirement for a clean general election.

Hishammuddin said the government has provided proper avenues for people to express their views and opinions.

"We are very concerned over the safety of the people should incidents occur during street protests.

"We have no problems if they want to stage peaceful gatherings inside a stadium.

"The police did not interfere when they held their Himpunan Hijau ke Putrajaya at the Darul Aman stadium here recently," he said after attending the Kedah-level "Barisan Nasional, Pilihan Orang Muda" (Barisan Nasional, the choice of the young generation) programme in Jitra, near here, yesterday.
