Kedah MCA to contest 2 federal and 4 state seats

ALOR STAR: MCA vice-president Datuk Seri Chor Chee Heung said the party would contest two parliamentary and four state seats in the next general election.

The four state seats are Bakar Arang, Kota Darul Aman, Kulim and Gurun.

MCA only managed to retain Gurun in the last general election.

Chor, who is also housing and local government minister, said MCA would defend the Alor Star parliamentary seat and contest Padang Serai, a seat it held before losing to Parti Keadilan Rakyat in 2008.

To a question, Chor, who is also Alor Star parliamentarian, said if there were any swapping of seats with Umno, it would be up to the top leadership of the two parties to decide.

Chor said this after giving away RM121,670 to seven non-governmental organisations, 40 poor and needy people and several mosque committees under the Alor Star parliamentary constituency.
