'Mustafa, what are you afraid of?'

KUALA LUMPUR: Pas secretary-general Datuk Mustafa Ali must clarify his reasons for defending moral issues involving opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

Kedah Parti Kesejahteraan Insan Tanah Air (Kita) Youth chief Mohd Faizal Jaafar said Mustafa should come clean and deny he had been blackmailed by Anwar's supporters.

"Why suddenly Mustafa is supporting Anwar? We want to know if his secrets are in Anwarina's pocket," Faizal said, adding that Mustafa should be sure of Anwar's innocence before making statements that support his wrongdoing.

"As a pious man, he should not defend someone with moral issues. What is he afraid of?

"People have started to question about his secrets. As a religious leader, it will be better if he clears his name," Faizal said yesterday.

Mustafa, however, said no one could force him to do what he did.
