SHAH ALAM: Pas said yesterday it has been ready for the next general election since last year and has almost finalised its list of candidates.
Party president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang said the nationwide list for Pas candidates was 90 per cent complete while the list for Selangor was ready.
He said this at a press conference after addressing party members at the Himpunan Hijau ke Putrajaya rally.
Hadi would not comment when asked whether Pas had made major changes to the Selangor line-up. "We will reveal the names of the candidates only when the election date is announced."
On the announcement by Kelantan Menteri Besar Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat on the lifting of a 20-year ban by the Kelantan government on women participating in Quran recital competitions, Hadi said he supported the move.
He said he believed that the Kelantan government made the decision because improvements had been made to the organisation of these competitions.
