KUALA LUMPUR: A former PKR leader has urged the party's top brass to take immediate action to resolve the long-standing issue of a sex video allegedly featuring deputy president Azmin Ali.
Former Penang Wanita PKR chief Aminah Abdullah said party president Datin Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail should take the initiative to put an end to the matter once and for all.
"Attempts by her husband (Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim) to try and cover up the allegations will only reflect Pakatan Rakyat's hypocritical attitude.
"They always find excuses when there are scandals in their fold," Aminah said in a statement yesterday.
In recent months, pictures and videos have appeared on two websites, www.papagomo.com and www.amwaraidc.com, which showed a man, who resembled Azmin, engaging in sexual acts with an unidentified woman on a sofa and in a toilet.
Aminah also urged Dr Wan Azizah to come clean about her husband's alleged affair with Shamsidar Taharin, Azmin's wife.
"Dr Wan Azizah, along with Shamsidar, should call for a joint press conference to clarify the matter and to explain if there is any truth to the scandalous allegations involving these two couples," she said.
Malaysian United Indian Party president Datuk K.S. Nallakaruppan had, in recent months, alleged he had witnessed Anwar having sex with men and women throughout their 30 years of friendship.
Anwar, who is PKR's de facto leader, had in March sued Utusan Malaysia and Nallakaruppan for RM100 million over a report alleging he was bisexual and unfit to be the opposition leader.
