Raja Nazrin attends 2012 SMK Sultan Yussuf Awards ceremony

IPOH: The Regent of Perak, Raja Dr Nazrin Shah and his consort Raja Puan Besar of Perak Tuanku Zara attended Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Sultan Yussuf's 2012 awards ceremony, near Batu Gajah.

 

The royal couple were welcomed by Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir, state Education deputy-director Mohd Idris Ramli and the school's headmaster Saidin Osman.   
 
Raja Nazrin presented the excellent students awards for 2010/2011 to 138 recipients.  
 
The 2012 Sultan Azlan Shah Royal Gold Medal was awarded to Zul Aifaa Zolkaply, 20 from Kampung Tersusun.     
 
Zul Aifaa was chosen based on her outstanding achievements such as Champion of the 2010 district level Pre-University Debate; Best Actress and Most Promising Participant in Finas' national level Movie Lovers Camp and 2011 Upper Sixth Form Graduates Leader.   
 
Sharing her tips for excelling, Zul Aifaa told reporters her approach was to put extraordinary efforts into her studies.    
 
"I remember someone advised me that "we're all human and the only thing that sets us apart is our action". So studying wholeheartedly is the path to success," she said. Bernama
