PUTRAJAYA: The role of National Blue Ocean Strategy (NBOS) will continue to grow as the main driving force behind the 11th Malaysia Plan, said Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi today.

"The role of innovation in nation building cannot be understated and everyone has a part to play in the building of creative nations.

"With the goal of transformation in mind, leadership must come from the top to inspire creativity as a national movement," he said at the closing of the International Conference on Blue Ocean Strategy (ICBOS).

The deputy prime minister said successful leaders in Malaysia had all understood the need to do things differently; to challenge the status quo, and to instill a culture of innovation.

In this respect, Zahid called on many bright young leaders in Malaysia to rise to the challenges of today's fast-paced and constantly changing society.

He warned that any country which failed to innovate would be left behind in the fast changing and globalised world.
