KUALA LUMPUR: Two men who allegedly indebted to Ah Longs, who gambled their money away in Macau, have attempted to kidnap a factory owner’s daughter and demand for RM5 million in ransom.

In their attempt, the 28-year-old victim was abducted in front of IGB International School in Sungai Buloh at around 6pm yesterday. However, the duo’s attempt was foiled by members of the public.

According to Sungai Buloh police chief Superintendent Dr Abdul Aziz Awang Darus, the woman was on her way home when her car was hit by a white van.

“Two men alighted and pulled her into the van," said Abdul Aziz.

However, a group of motorists who witnessed the incident gave the duo a chase as they fled towards Kuala Selangor.

In the end, the duo was forced to abandon the woman near The Store shopping centre.

The public members continued to chase the duo until the van skidded and stopped near a mosque at Sungai Pelong. The men, aged 25 and 26, were handed over to the police.

Police added that the victim sustained light injuries and was discharged today.
