SHAH ALAM: Firefighters, after more than 30-hours later, have finally put out a blaze at a plastic factory in Jalan Kelabakan here this afternoon.

All eight towers at the factory, that housed materials to make plastic pellets, were totally destroyed in the incident.

Sabak Bernam Fire and Rescue Department chief Mohd Saufi Zakaria said the fire had started about 6.30am yesterday.

"The storage tower where plastic materials are highly flammable and can easily cause fire.

"In out effort to put out the blaze, we faced some difficulties due to the limited space available that made it hard for us to spray water into the burning towers," he said.

He said forensic study will be conducted tomorrow at the plant, including getting the assistance of K9 units.
