ALOR GAJAH: The mother of Mohamad Ghafar Abu Bakar, the chief steward on board ill fated flight MH17, has pleaded to all not to publish any pictures depicting the victims of the mishap.

Maimon Sarpan, 74, said the public should consider the sensitivity of all family members of the passengers and crew on board the flight before spreading any pictures of the wreckage especially those containing the images of the victims.

“Please understand the feelings of the families of all those on board flight MH17.

“I would ask that the public do not spread the picture because it adds to our grief. Help us go through this difficult time without further causing us any hardship.

“As a mother, my feelings are already crushed when I received this tragic news, only God knows what I am going through as a mother,” she said when met at her house in Kampung Seri Tanjung, Masjid Tanah, here, this morning.

Maimon said she learned about the ill-fated flight MH17 when contacted by her daughter-in-law, Normi Abdullah, 54, at about midnight.
