BN on right track to achieve GTP target under Najib, says Musa
KOTA KINABALU: Barisan Nasional (BN) under the leadership of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak is on the right track to achieve the target which has been set in the Government Transformation Programme (GTP), Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman said.
He said that the BN government, spurred by a strong political will, had been successful in implementing its transformation programmes for the benefit of the people.
"We see a lot of improvements, including in terms of reduction in the number of crimes, more development in urban as well as in rural areas, and better income for the people.
"These are all due to the efforts of the BN government as promised to the people," he told reporters after attending the handing over of RM51.5 million in dividend payment from state government-owned company, Sawit Kinabalu Group, to the state government today.
Musa was asked to comment on the launch of the 2012 GTP and ETP Annual Report by the prime minister in Kuala Lumpur yesterday which spelled out numerous successes achieved under the national transformation programme.
Musa said also said it was important for state agencies such as Sawit Kinabalu to adopt an efficient and transparent management to enable them to reap better profit.
"When they are profitable, they will be able to pay dividends to the government, which will then be used to implement numerous development programmes for the people not only in urban areas but also in rural areas," he said. -- BERNAMA
