RapidKL passengers, driver escape unhurt after bus catches fire

KUALA LUMPUR: Eight passengers and the driver of a RapidKL bus had a scare when the bus caught fire in Taman Desa, Seputeh here at around 1pm today. However, all managed to disembark without getting hurt.

 

Pantai Dalam Fire Station Fire Officer II Salmi Abdul Mukti said the station was alerted of the incident at 1.10pm and fire and rescue personnel were at the scene within two minutes.
 
The bus was on its way back to the city centre when the incident happened.
 
"When we arrived, the bus was already in flames. The firemen managed to control the blaze within 14 minutes," Salmi told Bernama.
 
She said the cause of the fire was being investigated and losses assessed. -- BERNAMA
