I READ online that our police succeeded in detaining the robber who attacked and grievously wounded a female shopper at Mid Valley Megamall in Kuala Lumpur.
It occurred last Friday night and within five days, the police had solved the case. I'm sure this piece of good news is a huge relief for women. However, women should not let their guard down as there is always a possibility that this modus operandi might be copied by someone with bad intentions in the future.
That he is also a member of a gang on the wanted list is an added bonus. The police team led by Inspector Tan Tiong Moi should be congratulated for their swift action.
We should appreciate the dedication of our men in blue who, despite the occasional brickbats, always put their lives on the line for our peace of mind.
