POSTAL SERVICE: Stamps sold on first-come, first-served basis


WE refer to the letter from B.C. of Seremban "Poor service on launch day" (NST, Sept 17). We thank B.C. for bringing this matter to our attention.

Pos Malaysia's first-day cover issue on the royal visit of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on Sept 13 received overwhelming response. These issues are usually limited as they are special stamps and collectors' items.

To be fair to our customers and to ensure orderliness on that day, only one counter was opened. The first-day cover issue was sold on a first-come, first-served basis.

We would like to invite customers to become standing order deposit accounts (SODA) members so that they don't have to queue for special edition stamps. The public can visit our website at to learn more about the benefits of becoming a SODA member.
