SENIOR CITIZENS: Some of us are a neglected lot

SENIOR citizens, especially those without children, are the most sidelined category, compared with the younger generation and schoolchildren.

I suggest that this group of people be given some "gifts", too. I am not saying that we deserve special treatment, but please give us something to keep us going.

For instance, those in Penang should be given free transport from and to Butterworth.

How about free broadband and a place to interact with the young? I suggest that the authorities come up with TV programmes through which senior citizens can update themselves on information technology.

This can include areas, such as: how to solve PC problems; how to keep your computer running smoothly; hardware trouble shooting; and how to stay safe online.

These must be explained in the simplest way so that senior citizens can understand the topics.
