SOCSO: No revision in six years

ON behalf of all Social Security Organisation (Socso) recipients in the country, I wish to highlight to the government that the organisation has only reviewed payouts once in the last 11 years.

That was done in 2006, thanks to the goodwill and governance of former prime minister Tun Abdullah Badawi, who indirectly gave all recipients a Hari Raya saguhati.

I believe it is time that the government looked into our plight again.

I am a former Malaysia Airlines employee and I am now living off my Socso benefits, after being classified as a disabled person because of diabetics and stroke in 2001.

I hope the authorities would consider improving the Sosco benefits for people like me so that we can take better care of our daily needs.
