I AGREE with the views of the writer, "Indian TV shows cause drama in homes" (NST, May 1). It is not just the older people who are addicted to these dramas but also young children, who watch them with their parents.
Many people waste their time watching mega serials even to the extent of neglecting their household chores, including cooking.
I won't blame Astro as it has many informative programmes, such as those shown over the National Geographic and Discovery channels.
The moral values depicted in the serials are disappointing. The plots often contain too many fights, acts of revenge and strong language. This could have a negative effect on the minds of young children.
I suggest that women spend their time reviewing their children's homework, or spend the time with family members instead of watching these serials.
