In demand: The recently concluded Property Investment and Home Expo (PIHex) generated a lot of sales and interest among property investors in East Malaysia signifying tremendous pent-up demand for West Malaysian properties. Over 60 exhibitors mainly from Sabah and Peninsular Malaysia took part in the four-day event at 1Borneo Hypermall in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, which saw a huge turnout.
Many of the attendees also participated in the free property investment workshops conducted by property experts from both West and East Malaysia. Some of the well-known speakers included Ho Chin Soon, Founder and Director of Ho Chin Soon Research Sdn Bhd; Gavin Tee, Founder and President of SwhengTee International Real Estate Investors’ Club and Gerard Kho, Chief Executive Officer of Reapfield Group. East Malaysian property experts such as CK Wong and Alan Wong from Alan Wong Design Networks were also there to dispense their wisdom.
“I was surprised by the great interest shown by Sabahans and Sarawakians, many of whom expressed interest to join my investment club,” said Tee on the sidelines. The investment expert added that it was a very successful event with many West Malaysian developers enjoying brisk sales.
West Malaysian exhibitors who were there included Mah Sing Group Berhad, SP Setia Berhad and E & O Berhad.
