    LEE Chong Wei hardly raised a sweat as he stormed into the quarter-finals of the Malaysia Open grand prix gold in Johor Baru yesterday.

    Chong Wei, seeking his fourth consecutive title in the tournament, secured an effortless 21-12, 21-13 win over Sai Praneet of India in the third round after beating Australian Michael Fowke of New Zealand in the second round.

    National back-up player Chong Wei Feng also advanced in the absence of a top class field when he defeated compatriot Goh Soon Huat 22-24, 21-14, 21-11 and the former's reward is a quarter-final encounter against Chong Wei today.

    Malaysia are confirmed another player in the last eight as Hafiz Hashim was playing Misbun Ramdan Misbun in a late third round clash last night while Liew Daren was up against India's H.S. Prannoy.

    World junior champions Nelson Jeg-Teo Ee Yi, who won the Dutch international challenge last month, advanced to the quarter-finals after beating compatriots Low Juan Shen-Tan Yip Jiun 21-13, 21-17.
