KUALA LUMPUR: The news that she was listed as one of the contestants for the 800m freestyle event at the 2012 London Olympics stirred mixed emotions for national long distance swimmer Khoo Cai Lin.

The 24-year-old from Selangor said she received the news from national coach, Paul Birmingham last night.

"Paul contacted me last night and told me that I will be contesting in London Olympics for the second time. I'm really shocked but nonetheless happy," she told reporters after inking a new contract as one of Herbalife product ambassadors here today.

Other athletes who also renewed their contracts were Low Wee Wern (squash), twins Mohd Zaquan Adha and Mohd Aidil Zafuan Abd Radzak (football) and Mohd Azizulhasni Awang (cycling).

On her preparations for the Olympic Games, Cai Lin said she would take a few days' rest before continuing her training at the National Aquatic Centre in Bukit Jalil. -- BERNAMA
