    HOCKEY: Armed Forces are champions

    ARMED Forces emerged champions for the first time in the Raja Noora Ashikin Cup when they thumped Malacca 3-0 in the final in Seremban yesterday.

       The experienced Forces side got their goals through Izzuin Ismail (24th minute), Nadia Abdul Rahman (27th) and Juliani Mohammad Din (67th). Malacca failed to make their presence felt.

     The Kuala Lumpur Malaysia Games squad finished third following a 3-0 win over Terengganu, courtesy of  a brace from Norazlin Sumantri (11th and 32nd) and Herni Japlee (6th).

       Roll of Honour -- Fairplay: Sarawak

       Top Scorer: Suzana Mohd Nasir (Armed Forces -- 10 goals)

       Most Promising Player: Herni Japlee (KL)

       Best Goalkeeper: Norafini Kamaruddin (Kedah)

       Best Player: Juliani Mohamma Din (Armed Forces)
